Recliner City and Mount Bedding Co. are both proudly locally-owned and operated furniture businesses run by Shaun Reed and Jo Randle – which are conveniently next door to each other.
The two pride themselves on offering a high-quality service and are committed to building long-lasting relationships with each and every client they help find the perfect pieces for their home. More recently, that’s included a foray into the art world.
Within their curated product range, you’ll find stylish recliner chairs, sofas, tub chairs, lift chairs, occasional furniture, beds and accessories. Selected for their quality and customisation, many of their pieces can be made in a choice of fabrics within just a few weeks. There’s also an exceptional collection of original art to be discovered on their walls.
In November last year, they linked up with Creative BOP to offer local artists a bright and inviting space to exhibit their art. The partnership provides a new and innovative way for talented creatives to showcase their work.
Currently, you can find 12 local artist’s work for sale throughout the showroom as part of their second intake of the program, as well as some additional pieces from Shaun and Jo’s friends and family. The current Creative BOP cohort will be on show until the end of October, as each is given a space to make their own for six months.
“We feel the artwork compliments our business and helps our customers visualise their newly decorated rooms,” Jo Randle says. “We work creatively to place our furniture with the art so they compliment each other. We feel very privileged to display such beautiful and unique local art in our showroom.”
As each piece sells, it is replaced with new artwork from the same artist, and each is encouraged to change things up along the way. That way the next time you pop in you might find something new.
