Sauna and Ice Baths have now been scientifically proven to strengthen your body and mind thru a range of physiological changes when exposed to heat and cold, this in turn makes us more adaptable resilient and able to perform at our highest potential.
At Panacea we have curated a well rounded Traditional Authentic Finnish Sauna Experience built in a clean beautiful relaxing calm natural space where you can book a session anytime for people on the go or Sign up for a Membership plan for VIP Access.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
We have created a smart access booking system which will generate a code upon your booking giving you access at your time of booking.
Inside the facility we provided change rooms to get ready and storage units to put your belongings.
Our place has Cold Rinse Showers, Two ICE BATHS an Outdoor Cool-Down Area, Chilled Filtered Drinking Water and a Toilet block outside of the building using a code lock
We invigorate your senses with a beautiful natural environment filled with a diverse array plants, sounds of nature play thru a crisp BOSE Sound System and a Diffuser mists Aromatherapy Scents to relax the mind while in your session. to create a truly well rounded experience.
THE SAUNA
The Sauna has been custom built using only natural materials throughout the build, meaning no treatments of any kind or toxins that can off-gas in the Sauna, We have built a massive 36m3 cubic meter sauna which can fit in 16 people with room to stand stretch or just sit back and relax .
We have sourced the Redwood Cedar which was grown right here in the North Island and milled up locally from the boys at Tauriko Saw Mill giving it a super low carbon footprint, The Terpenes in the cedar give off a pleasant scent and are naturally anti bacterial.
We have teamed up with the crew from Scandia to get the largest Gas Fired Sauna heater possible, this ensures a constant soft heat and no electric elements so we are able to offer traditional ” Löyly” Finnish for splashing water on the rocks creating steam.
Gas helps us keep our carbon foot print low by not consuming large amounts of electricity, We source our Gas locally from our Southern Taranaki gas fields.
THE ICE BATHS
Cold plunge in technical term as Ice is a solid, but the name is more relatable as it feels icy cold.
We have built our own custom baths which are deep enough to fully immerse your self and angled backing to truly relax into you practice. Firstly they are chilled down to 6-8 Celsius which is plenty cold enough to gain maximum benefit, and also eco friendly using less energy.
Secondly the water is run thru a State of the Art UV filtration system and 3 stage commercial grade filter system, this means the water is crystal clear with zero chemicals added, and the UV light kills 99.99% of harmful bacteria and micro organisms.
